Nightmare Frontier Available on Steam Early Access

Developer Ice Code Games, which previously worked on Hard West II and Rogue Waters, has released its latest title Nightmare Frontiers on Steam Early Access. The game is a tactical RPG set in an alternate 1900s as players try to reclaim a former American boom town from a supernatural force called the Dreadweavers. It features elements inspired by extraction shooters as players explore the Nightmare, a manifestation of human fears. It sees them lead a team into the Nightmare, choosing whether to accept the greater risk of venturing further into it in order to attain greater rewards.

The Early Access version is available for $19.99/€19.99, with a 25% launch discount available until June 30, 2025. A demo version is also available. The initial version is said to include the game’s full core gameplay loop, with the game’s full release expected in Q1 2026. Ice Code Games has put out a planned roadmap, with each of the three upcoming quarters planned to include two patches and a major release.
