Ōkami Sequel Announced

Capcom announced that a sequel to 2006 action adventure Ōkami is in development. The game is being developed by M-TWO Inc., Machine Head Works Inc., and CLOVERS Inc., which include multiple members of the original game’s development staff. Director Hideki Kamiya is confirmed to be taking on the same role for the sequel. Neither a title, platforms, or a release window have been announced at this stage.

Okami was originally released for PlayStation 2 before being ported to Nintendo Wii and later, under the title of Okami HD, to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game is heavily based on Japanese mythology, with players controlling the sun goddess Amaterasu, who takes on the form of a white wolf. A spiritual successor, Okamiden, was released for Nintendo DS.
