Darkest Dungeon II Update, Second DLC Releasing in January
Developer and publisher Red Hook Studios announced the release date for the second DLC of turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon II as well as a new free update. Previously planned to launch later this year, the Inhuman Bondage DLC will release alongside the free Kingdoms update on January 27, 2025, on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).
A follow-up to 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across a decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. The game features a refined version of the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.
Darkest Dungeon II is currently available on PC (via Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Those looking to read more about the title can check out Ryan Costa’s review of its PC release.
