Genshin Impact Version 5.1 Update Releasing Next Week

Developer and publisher HoYoverse announced the release date for free-to-play action RPG Genshin Impact‘s next update. The version 5.1 update, titled “The Rainbow Destined to Burn”, will be available on October 9, 2024. It will include new story content, a new character, and more. In addition, in celebration of the game’s fourth anniversary, the company released a theme song, “Passing Memories”, composed by HOYO-MiX and sung by Faouzia.

The version 5.1 update will continue Natlan’s main storyline with two more acts of the Archon Quest. The update comes with a new playable character, Xilonen, who is a 5-star Geo sword character. Xilonen is capable of providing healing and decreasing Elemental RES of enemies when teaming up with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro characters. The update also introduces a seasonal event in Sumeru to celebrate the Sabzeruz Festival and Nahida’s birthday with stories, mini-games, and bonus. Furthermore, the update optimizes the Spiral Abyss and new Envisaged Echoes challenges for Zhongli and Keqing’s new echoes.

Genshin Impact originally released in September 2020 and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. Players control a character in the world of Teyvat known as “the Traveler” and must embark on a journey to find their missing sibling. They are joined by NPC companion Paimon, travelling in a party of up to four active members.
