Death end re;Quest: Code Z Gets 2025 Western Release

Idea Factory International announced that the latest title in Compile Heart’s Death end re;Quest series, Death end re;Quest: Code Z, will be released in North America and Europe in 2025. The game will be released physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, including in a Limited Edition, which will be revealed at a later date. It is set to release in Japan this September.

Death end re;Quest: Code Z features different gameplay to its predecessors, using turn-based roguelike combat and exploration with various terrains, enemies, traps, and more. The game features a setting with multiple worlds and revolves around the entity Iris. Iris was born in “DE-1 World”, which resembles 2000s Earth. After that world entered a spiral of tragedy, Iris created an replica known as “DE-1.5 World” and set it up to be more idyllic. However, a new threat emerges that sees new protagonist Sayaka Hiwatari facing chaos involving friends and foes. It will feature a mixture of returning and new characters, with its story connecting to the previous titles and is said to feature significantly more gruesome events and character death scenes than previous titles.
