Lost Hellden Showcases Its Gameplay

Developer and publisher Artisan Studios revealed a new trailer for its upcoming RPG Lost Hellden. The video, narrated in French but with English subtitles available, showcases snippets of its battle system, which is divided into an “Action Phase” and a “Reaction Phase”. During the Action Phase, players freely move their characters and attack enemies in real-time. A command system can be used during this phase to emulate a turn-based gameplay. Once the player runs out of actions, the Reaction Phase starts, allowing the enemies to attack and limiting players’ movements to dodges, parries, and counterattacks.

Lost Hellden is set on the planet Era, where its people are bound to one of the Seven Deadly Sins in a ceremony called the Nexus Ritual before their first birthday. The people are required to fight against their bound urges, transforming into mindless beasts if they succumb. After a woman gives birth to twins for the first time in the planet’s history, the leader of Era conducts the ritual himself, but it ends up with one twin bound to all seven sins and the other bound to none. While being brought up in a sanctuary in the capital Avilah, the twin bound to the sins — Leht — manages to escape, with his brother Cyphel sent to bring him back, accompanied by veterans Gram and Enki. Lost Hellden is planned to launch in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
