The Thaumaturge Demonstrates a Quest

11 bit studios and Fool’s Theory released a new gameplay video for upcoming isometric RPG The Thaumaturge. The seven-minute video shows one of the game’s quests, titled “To Dust, You Shall Return”. It unfolds across multiple locations in Warsaw, beginning with protagonist Wiktor Szulski meeting former court member Swietłana in the Imperial Hotel before heading to the London Bar and the shady neighbourhood around it.

The video also showcases the game’s turn-based combat system, which allows Wiktor to use Thaumaturgy to anticipate enemy actions and utilise etheral beings called Salutors. It also highlights the benefits of exploration as well as character growth options and dialogue choices. A full walkthrough stream with developer commentary is planned to be hosted on 11 bit studios’s Twitch channel on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 5pm CET / 11am ET / 8am PT.

The Thaumaturge is set in an alternate version of 1905 Warsaw, following its recent annexation by the Russian Empire. Its setting features supernatural beings called Salutors that exist in the cracks of the real world. These Salutors can only be fully perceived by Thaumaturges, people who use their unique abilities and see deep into the psyches of humans. The Thaumaturge will release for PC on February 20, 2024. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned to follow some time after the PC release.
