New Release Round-Up (February 8, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


AeternoBlade II: Infinity

Sidescrolling action RPG AeternoBlade II is a sequel to 2014 title AeternoBlade and originally released for PC in 2019. The game features time-manipulation combat and sees returning protagonist Freyja joined by new playable characters Bernard and Felix as they investigate when world lines begin to destabilise. The Xbox Series X|S release comes with its Infinity update that includes 4K graphical support, revamped level designs, and an assortment of bug fixes.


Dungeonoid 2 Awakening

Dungeonoid 2 Awakening blends top-action action, arcade block-busting, and dungeon-crawling RPG elements. Players select one of four fantasy classes, each its own stats and special skill. They control a floating platform to deflect a magical orb into targets, though they will lose a heart of health if they ever let the orb get past them.


Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure

Platform: Xbox Series X|S (previously released on PC)

Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure is a cozy island-themed spin-off of Snowcastle Games’ turn-based RPG Earthlock. In Ikonei Island, players can explore the titular island with up to three other friends while collecting items, customizing a home, and forging bonds with creatures.


Pixel Noir

Platform: PC, Mac, Linux

Detective RPG Pixel Noir puts players in the role of a private detective, ten years after a traumatic event in an old hospital that resulted in the deaths of their partner and others, spelling the end of their police career. The game features turn-based combat as players take on numerous cases in Pinnacle City, eventually getting the chance to uncover what happened all those years ago. The game had been in Early Access since 2019, with Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S releases planned to follow.


The Inquisitor

The Inquisitor is a story-driven dark fantasy adventure set in an alternate 16th century where Jesus Christ never died on the cross but instead went on a violence filled vengeance against the non-believers. Based on the Polish book series The Inquisitor Cycle by Jacek Piekara, it follows Mordimer Madderdin, an inquisitor sent to investigate a series of murders in the small town of Koenigstein.
