Kickstarter Campaign Launched for Bestiario

Barcelona-based studio Wiggins Industries has launched a Kickstarter campaign for turn-based RPG Bestiario. It takes inspiration from classic JRPGs such as Grandia, Final Fantasy, and Persona. Featuring the talents of cartoonist Isaac Sanchez and content creator Yuste, the game is planned for release on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch with an estimated release date of late 2026.

As of this writing, the Kickstarter campaign has already surpassed its goal of €50,000, and is set to run until March 3, 2024. Some of the perks on offer include a digital copy with an Early Bird tier for €15 (€20 for the regular tier).

Bestiario is based on Spanish mythology and takes place in a post-pandemic Spain, where a diverse group of hunters fight to protect the world by solving mysteries and battling unusual enemies. These enemies include the ojáncano, a huge cyclops with ten fingers on each hand, and the cocollona, a nun who turns into a crocodile with butterfly wings whenever she sins. Players will have the ability to use the environment along with combos and interruptions to gain an advantage during battles. Meanwhile, calendar and social sim systems give players the freedom to spend the day doing sidequests, forming bonds with other characters, and more.

I have been gaming since I received the Sega Master System as a young child, which was the first console I ever owned (Yes, I am that old). The game that got me into RPGs was Final Fantasy VIII, a game that I still adore to this day. My favorite RPG of all time, however, is Shadow Hearts on the PS2. I do have many other interests outside of gaming as well, such as watching old-school wrestling, Reading books, 80s movies.... or anything 80s related as a matter of fact.
