Visions of Mana to Launch in Summer

Square Enix appeared on the latest Xbox Developer Direct video to show off its upcoming title Visions of Mana. The appearance featured Mana series producer Masaru Oyamada, who introduced the game’s new aerial combat, the return of Elementals, and a new creature called pikuls. Series creator Koichi Ishii also provided a message in the video. In addition, the company revealed that the game will launch in summer 2024, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Visions of Mana is the first new mainline entry in the action RPG series in over fifteen years. The game follows Val, a soul guard assigned to protect his childhood friend as they set out to the Tree of Mana to rejuvenate the mana flow. Visions of Mana will feature real-time 3D combat with new designs from series illustrator Airi Yoshioka as well as a musical score from composers Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito, and Ryo Yamazaki. The Mana (aka Seiken Densetsu) series began in 1991 with the original Seiken Densetsu, which was released in North America as Final Fantasy Adventure and in Europe as Mystic Quest.
