Baroque Decay Resurrects Catechesis

Developer Baroque Decay has re-announced its first title, Catechesis. Originally announced ten years ago, the horror RPG’s initial development expanded in scope to the extent it was put on hold as the studio created other titles The Count Lucanor and Yuppie Psycho. Baroque Decay has now returned to Catechesis and is aiming to finish the title with its additional experience. A release window and platforms have not been announced, but the game is available to wishlist on Steam.

Catechesis follows Daniel, an alter boy of a fringe religion who becomes possessed by a demon. As a result, every good deed he does causes a gateway to hell to open, and he must spend his time acting virtuous during the day while battling demons at night. The game will feature slow-paced combat that utilises ranged and melee weapons with a twin-stick aiming system. The game will also feature stealth elements with sound and light detection, as well as exploration that uses flashlights and candles to uncover hidden resources and paths.
