New Release Round-Up (August 31, 2023)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.

OU is billed as a picturesque narrative adventure. It is set in the world U-chronia, which is described as constantly changing like a book whose pages are flipped out of order. Players control the eponymous OU, a young boy who wakes up in a dried up riverbed without any memories and is guided by Zarry, an opossum with a flaming tail.


Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles

The Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles bundle features two games — Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom — which are also available individually on PC. Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom are the second and third games in the Marl Kingdom series that began with Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess follows Kururu — the daughter of Cornet and Ferdinand — as she goes on a quest to find true love, while Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom features multiple chapters focusing on different characters in the past, present, and future of the other games in the series. Turn-based RPG Sea of Stars follows two Children of the Solstice: the Lunar Monk Valere and the Solar Blade Dancer Zale as they combine their powers to fight the evil creations of the alchemist known as the Fleshmancer. It features turn-based combat and a freely traversible world letting players swim, climb, vault, and more. It also includes musical contributions from composer Yasunori Mitsuda.


Untamed Tactics

Tactical RPG Untamed Tactics is a follow-up to tabletop card battle game Untamed: Feral Factions. It is set in a world populated by anthropomorphic animals and follows the story of a soldier called Greycoat as he and his companions venture into the Wilds. The game features a linear story campaign with a procedurally-generated world. Combat lets players manipulate and take advantage of the environment, while a Parley feature lets players interact with enemies in multiple ways including invoking fear or even getting them to switch sides.
