Lords of the Fallen Gets an Extended Gameplay Look

CI Games and Hexworks released an extended gameplay exhibition for Lords of the Fallen. The video gives an eighteen-minute overview of the game, including two boss fights, several areas, co-op gameplay, and examples of how players will be able to swap between the parallel game worlds.

Equipped with the Umbral Lamp, players will have the ability to traverse between the living realm of Axiom and the undead Umbral realm. Using the lamp allows players to peer into the other world at any time and players who die in Axiom will automatically respawn in the same spot in Umbral. Once a player has been defeated in Umbral they are truly defeated and go back to the most recent checkpoint, known as a Vestige. Vestiges are also how players return to Axiom from Umbral. Players can choose to enter Umbral at any time, but doing so will cost them their second life.

The video also details the game’s co-op, which can be activated at any Vestige. Players will be able to team up with friends or random players and play together for as long as they wish.

Lords of the Fallen is a reboot of the 2014 game of the same name, this time taking players to the world of Mournstead to overthrow Adyr the Demon God. The game is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 13, 2023.
