Soulvars Releasing on PC, Consoles in June

Publisher Shueisha Games and developer ginolabo announced a PC and console release for turn-based RPG Soulvars. The game, which also has deckbuilding elements, will release internationally for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on June 27, 2023. A PC demo will be available in the upcoming Steam Next Fest from June 19-26, 2023. Soulvars originally released for iOS and Android in Japan in January 2022, with an English version released in April of that year.

Soulvars takes place in a future world where humanity’s abuse of technology has resulted in the emergence of grotesque creatures called Dominators. To counter Dominator attacks, elite units have been formed made up of Soulbearers, next-generation humans born with alternate Souls. The game follows Yakumo, a freelance Soulbearer working for private military contractor DDO (Dominator Disposal Organization).

The game features party-based combat with players utilising a deck of Soulbits to create different attacks. The game is said to feature over 100 Arts and Abilities, with players able to obtain new gear by defeating Dominators. The PC and console releases will feature updated gameplay, including a redesigned horizontal UI and new controller support, as well as new character illustrations from manga-ka Shiro Usasaki.
