Fairy Tail: Dungeons Heading to Switch Alongside Content Update

Publisher Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab and developer ginolabo have announced a Nintendo Switch release for Fairy Tail: Dungeons. The Nintendo Switch version will release on January 7, 2026, with a free content update releasing for its PC version on the same day. The update includes five new unlockable heroes — Gajeel, Juvia, Mirajane, Laxus, and Gildart — as well as numerous new amulets, magic cards, skills, quests, monsters, and items.

Fairy Tail: Dungeons is a deckbuilding roguelike based on the Fairy Tail manga and features an original story, with players controlling characters from the game. The game involves a mysterious door leading to a strange dungeon that robs those who enter of their abilities. After being rescued from monsters by a character named Labi, the group sets out to find Labi’s friends, who are deeper within the dungeon. The game sees players trying to overcome the dungeon within a limited number of turns. Players can attack, defend, and use magic with their customisable deck of cards, with three party members using their abilities to synergise in different ways. Fairy Tail: Dungeons originally released for PC via Steam in 2024, with those wishing to read more able to check out Michael Apps’s review of its PC release.
