Fairy Tail: Dungeons Releasing This Month

Kodansha Creators’ Lab announced its “Fairy Tail Indie Game Guild” project. The project sees the publisher partnering with a selection of developer to create games based on the Fairy Tail manga and anime series. Three titles have been announced as part of the project: Fairy Tail: Dungeons, Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc, and Fairy Tail: Birth of Magic.

Fairy Tail: Dungeons is a deckbuilding roguelike from developer ginolabo and features an original story. It includes five playable characters: Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Wendy. The game involves a mysterious door leading to a strange dungeon that robs those who enter of their abilities. After being rescued from monsters by a character named Labi, the group sets out to find Labi’s friends, who are deeper within the dungeon.

The game sees players trying to overcome the dungeon within a limited number of turns. Players can attack, defend, and use magic with their customisable deck of cards with three party members using their abilities to synergise in different ways. Fairy Tail: Dungeons is planned to release for PC via Steam on August 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc — developed by tiny cactus studio, MASUDATARO, and veryOK — is billed as a “magic beach volleyball battle” game for one to four players. It sees the cast engage in 2v2 contests as the Kingdom of Fiore’s beach volleyball tournament is throw into chaos. The game will release for PC via Steam on September 16, 2024. Few details have been revealed for Pop’s Fairy Tail: Birth of Magic, including a release date, but it is billed as a creative magic action title for one or two players.
