Born of Bread Set for Summer
Publisher Dear Villagers and developer WildArts Studio have announced they are partnering for the release of Born of Bread. The game is a lighthearted party-based RPG following the adventures of a flour golem. It is in development for PC with a planned release window of summer 2023, and can be wishlisted on Steam now.
Born of Bread stars Loaf, a flour golem in a mystical land that is under threat from beings from another age. The game features a 2.5D visual style, with turn-based combat that utilises QTE elements. Weapons feature a mixture of physical and special damage types, which enemies have different weakness and resistances to.
The gameworld is extremely colorful and often nothing short of gorgeous.
Sadly, the battle system's dependence on QTE-style attacks quickly relegates it to tedious.
