Atelier Ryza 3 Gets More Details, Media

Koei Tecmo and Gust released new media and details for the upcoming Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key. The update introduces three more returning playable characters — Empel, Lila, and Patricia — as well as new gameplay additions and changes.

The game’s real-time combat is said to feature enhanced presentation and effects, with players able to select a party of up to five active members — three in the frontline with two behind — from the cast of eleven playable characters. It has a new system for transitioning into battles, while players are able to speed up fights by using in-game keys. These powerful keys can be equipped and when used they strengthen a character for a period of time, while dropping their action wait time to zero.

Keys are also used in the Atelier Ryza 3′s synthesis system. Ryza is able to synthesise special items by placing materials in a material ring and then using a key to improve the recipe’s level, potentially increasing both the quality and number of items produced. The game will also include a new Link Morph ability, which lets Ryza adds otherwise unavailable effects to items as well as possible “super traits”.

The third entry in the Secret sub-series, Atelier Ryza 3 takes place a year after Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, with Reisalin “Ryza” Stout returning as protagonist. While Ryza and her friends enjoy a peaceful life on Kurken Island, they learn about a new group of islands that have mysteriously appeared. The game will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on February 24, 2023. A limited physical Premium Box edition is available to pre-order through NIS America’s online store in North America, while in Europe limited Premium Box and Special Collector’s Box editions are available from Koei Tecmo’s European online store
