Eastasiasoft and Softstar Partner for More Console Releases

Publisher Eastasiasoft and developer Softstar Entertainment announced a partnership to release more titles internationally on consoles. The announcement covers three new RPG releases: Sea Horizon, Sword and Fairy Inn 2, and a Nintendo Switch version of Xuan Yuan Sword 7.

Sea Horizon is developed by 45 Studio and has been available on Steam Early Access since May 2022. The partnership will see the game released on consoles, coming first digitally to Nintendo Switch on October 20, 2022, priced at $14.99, with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions following in early 2023. The Nintendo Switch version will also get a physical release through Playasia, with Limited and Standard Editions available to pre-order on September 29, 2022. The Limited Edition will be restricted to 2,000 copies, while the Standard Edition will be open pre-order.

Sea Horizon is a turn-based RPG with roguelike, survival, and deckbuilding elements. It is set on the land of Myrihyn, which has been shattered into numerous islands. Players explore the islands by ship, aiming to stop an invasion by the Dark Fiend. The game’s turn-based combat is said to be inspired by Dungeons & Dragons and Magic the Gathering, using dice-based mechanics that determine the resources available to the player on each turn.

Sword and Fairy Inn 2 is a life simulation RPG spin-off to the long-running Sword and Fairy series. It tasks players with managing a family restaurant while exploring their surroundings to gather new ingredients and cookware. Players can meet various characters from the Sword and Fairy series and recruit them as staff. The game released for PC via Steam earlier this year and is planned to release physically and digitally between late 2022 and mid 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is the latest entry in the long-running Taiwanese action RPG series and is set in a version of China about 2000 years ago, towards the end of the Western Han dynasty. Players control Taishi Zhao, a swordsman who sets out on a journey to protect his family. The game originally released on PC in 2020, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions released in 2021, while the Nintendo Switch version is planned to release in 2023.
