Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Switch Release Announced

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Aquria announced a Nintendo Switch release for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. A release date has not been announced, but it will come with the “Ancient Apostles” free content update with other free and paid DLC to made available later. In addition, the companies announced that the game’s next DLC, Blooming of Matricaria, is planned for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this summer.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris originally released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2020. Although the game series follows its own separate continuity, Alicization Lycoris is loosely based on the main light novel and anime series’ “Alicization” story arc, which takes place in the Underworld, a virtual world where AIs act like humans.
