Boyfriend Dungeon Gets Secret Weapons Update This Summer

Kitfox Games has announced free DLC for dungeon-crawler and dating sim hybrid Boyfriend Dungeon. The Secret Weapons DLC will release this summer and include new playable weapons, a new dungeon, and a new romanceable villain-weapon designed by Ikumi Nakamura.

The two new playable weapons are Jonah the Axe and Leah the Hammer, one of whom previously made a cameo appearance in main game. Meanwhile the new dungeon ends with its boss Dr. Holmes the Whip. Dr. Holmes can be romanced by players, though it is said that they will never accept a wielder. The update will also add three new music tracks from Marskye featuring vocals from Madeleine McQueen.

Boyfriend Dungeon features different weapons that transform into humans (and a cat). Players earn cash by using these weapons to slay creatures in “the dunj”, using that cash to go on dates with them and build up their relationships. The game released on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2021. Those looking to read more about Boyfriend Dungeon can check out Sam Wachter’s review of the Nintendo Switch version.
