Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector Announced
Publisher Fellow Traveller and developer Jump Over the Age have announced Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, in development for PC. The game is a sequel to 2022’s Citizen Sleeper, which combined visual novel storytelling with die-based tabletop gameplay mechanics in a sci-fi space setting and placed in three separate categories in RPGamer’s Best of 2022 Awards. The sequel reunites the first game’s core design team and iterate on its gameplay, promising “all new systems and mechanics that will offer more depth, complexity and challenge”. The game can be wishlisted via Steam and its official site.
Citizen Sleeper 2 sees players slip into the declining body of an all-new Sleeper, a company-owned android who has managed to flee to the Starward Belt, a remote asteroid cluster at the edge of the Helion system. This time, the Sleeper is in charge of their own ship and crew, which they must somehow manage to keep in working order to carry out contracts for Laine, a notorious gang leader who enacts control over the Sleeper by supplying them with the Stabilizer their decaying body needs to survive. To make matters more complicated, the Helion system is currently the site of a violent war between corporations, with the Sleeper caught in its middle.
