Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Brought Forward to July
Nintendo announced that Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will release worldwide for Nintendo Switch on July 29, 2022. The new date sees the launch moved forward from its previous September 2022 window. The announcement comes with a new three-minute trailer that contains more hints at the game’s story, as well as footage of the game’s real-time combat system, which sees party members able to pair up and take a powerful joint form.
In addition, Nintendo announced a physical Special Edition for the game. The Special Edition will be available exclusively through My Nintendo Store in North America and include the game, a SteelBook case, and an art book. Pre-orders will be available at a later date.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set in a world that connects the futures of the settings of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It follows protagonists Noah and Mio as they navigate the hostilities between the nations of Keves and Agnus. Noah is a soldier from Keves, while Mio is a soldier from Agnus, both of whom are joined by allies from their side. The story is said to feature “life” as its primary theme and will have music composed by a team including Yasunori Mitsuda, Manami Kiyota, ACE (TOMOri Kudo, CHiCO), Kenji Hiramatsu, and Mariam Abounnasr, all of whom worked on previous titles in the series.
