New Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl Details Released

The Pokémon Company released some new details for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The update introduces the main members of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl’s antagonistic Team Galactic, plus two Gym Leaders and three Legendary Pokémon, as well as the official reveal of Pokémon Legends: Arceus’s previously-teased Hisuian forms of Zorua and Zoroark.

Cyrus is the leader of Team Galactic. He acts calmly and logically but detests what he feels are defective human minds and emotions. Mars is one of Cyrus’s loyal commanders. She hates to lose and is prone to emotional outbursts regarding Pokémon. Jupiter is a skilled trainer but mysterious. She is known to do anything to achieve her goals. Finally, Saturn is cool and collected. While he has some doubts about Cyrus’s plans, he still carries out his orders.

The two Gym Leaders shown are Candice and Volkner. Candice is the Snowpoint City Gym Leader and uses Ice-type Pokémon led by Abomasnow. Volkner is Sunyshore City Gym Leader and uses Electric-type Pokémon team led by Luxray. He is said to be the strongest Gym Leader in the region but has grown bored from a lack of strong challengers. Sinnoh’s three Legendary Pokémon are Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, also referred to as the Being of Knowledge, Being of Emotion, and Being of Willpower respectively.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus‘s Hisuian forms of Zorua and Zoroark were previously shown in a recent trailer. Both of the these forms are Normal/Ghost-types as opposed to their standard form Dark-type. The Huisian forms are from Zorua that migrated to the Hisui region after being driven away by humans but were unable to survive. However, their souls were reborn in the new Ghost-type form with malice towards both humans and Pokémon.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release for Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2021, with Pokémon Legends: Arceus following on January 28, 2022. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the fourth-generation titles Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, which were released for Nintendo DS in Japan in 2006 and in the west in 2007. Pokémon Legends: Arceus offers a new approach for the series, being set in the Sinnoh region’s past and featuring an open, full-3D world.
