The Vale: Shadow of the Crown Launching in August
Falling Squirrel announced that its audio-only action RPG The Vale: Shadow of the Crown will launch on August 19, 2021. The game will be released for PC — via Steam and the Epic Games Store — and Xbox One.
The Vale: Shadow of the Crown follows Alex, a princess who is blind from birth and whose elder brother has recently ascended to the throne. Given the position of warden of a castle on the outskirts of the kingdom, the protagonist’s journey is interrupted by an invading force and they find themselves alone needing to find supplies and allies in order to get home through a dark valley known as The Vale.
The game features a campaign that lasts five-plus hours with specialised 3D audio and includes numerous RPG elements such as equipment, combat, magic abilities, companions, and quests. The game is designed to be fully accessible to blind players, with the developer working with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind for the game.
