New Release Round-Up (August 19, 2021)
Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases.
Sword & Souls: Neverseen
Swords & Souls: Neverseen is a follow-up to browser game Swords & Souls and originally released for PC in 2019. The game sends players across the Neverseen to defeat an evil witch after they are shipwrecked. It features turn-based combat with characters levelling up via mini-games.
The Vale: Shadow of the Crown
The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is an audio-only RPG that follows Alex, a princess who is blind from birth and whose elder brother has recently ascended to the throne. Given the position of warden of a castle on the outskirts of the kingdom, the protagonist’s journey is interrupted by an invading force and she finds herself alone needing to find supplies and allies in order to get home through a dark valley known as The Vale. Those looking to read more about The Vale: Shadow of the Crown can check out Luis Mauricio’s review of the PC version.
Thea 2: The Shattering
Thea 2: The Shattering combines elements of 4X strategy, card games, and survival RPGs. Players take on the role of a deity from a Slavic mythology-inspired pantheon, controlling the fate of a small flock of believers struggling for survival.
Brawler RPG Young Souls follows twin teenagers Jenn and Tristan, who are abandoned and brought into the home of a good-natured professor. The pair grow up in the quiet town of Portsbourgh, but one day the professor disappears and they discover a portal to another world. They spend their time training at the gym and buying new outfits to help their endeavour of clearing dungeons in the other world.
