Salt and Sacrifice Announced, Launching Early Next Year

Ska Studios and Devoured Studios have announced Salt and Sacrifice, a follow-up to 2016 title Salt and Sanctuary. The game is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, and is expected in launch in early 2022. It will be priced at $19.99 and include English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese language support.

Like its predecessor, Salt and Sacrifice is a side-scrolling action RPG. The game takes place in the Alterstone Kingdom, where criminals can either opt for execution or live in service as Marked Inquisitors tasked with hunter down Mages. Players choose the crime, appearance, and class of their Marked Inquisitor before conducting the rite that put them into the Spellmarked state between life and death.

Salt and Sacrifice features eight classes: Highblade, Paladin, Assassin, Cleric, Dualist, Fighter, Ranger, and Sage. Players prepare at the Pardoner’s Vale hub, before setting out to locations such as villages, temples, and swamps in search of Mages. Defeated Mages leave resources that can be used to craft new equipment and grant the Inquisitor new abilities. The game will feature drop-in/drop-out online cooperative play.
