Final Fantasy VII Remake PS5 Version, Mobile Titles Announced

During the PlayStation State of Play presentation, Square Enix announced a PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The PlayStation 5 version is dubbed Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and includes a new story episode introducing Yuffie Kisaragi to the remake. The new chapter sees Yuffie attempting to infiltrate the Shinra corporation to steal a powerful Materia.

The PlayStation 5 version will include enhanced visuals with graphics and performance optimisation modes. It will also add a Normal (Classic) difficulty option and a photo mode. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will launch for PlayStation 5 on June 10, 2021. Those who own the PlayStation 4 version will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free, but will have to purchase the additional story chapter separately. Players will be able to transfer their save data from the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5 following a forthcoming update for the game.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is the first part of a complete remake of Final Fantasy VII. The game released for PlayStation 4 in April 2020. In addition, Square Enix announced two new mobile titles. Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is an online battle royale game set before the events of Final Fantasy VII. It sees players controlling SOLDIER candidates and will launch for iOS and Android in 2021. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is a single-player title that covers the events of the entire Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, including the original Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is set to launch for iOS and Android in 2022. Both The First Soldier and Ever Crisis will be free to download with in-app purchases.
