Phantasy Star Online 2 Episode 6 Launching Next Week

Sega announced that its Episode 6 update for Phantasy Star Online 2 will launch in western regions on December 9, 2020. The free update continues the game’s storyline and includes new classes, quests, and enemies, also increasing the game’s level cap to 95. The two new classes introduced in the update are the Phantom and the Etoile. Both are considered Scion classes along with the Hero class introduced in Episode 5. The Phantom can use Rods, Katanas, and Assault Rifles and is able to modify standard Photon Arts or Techniques to increase the variety of attacks available. The Etoile class acts as a melee support class using Double Sabers, Soaring Blades, and Wands. They are able to restore party members’ HP and PP.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently available in North America and over thirty other countries on Xbox One and PC. The game was originally released for PC in Japan in 2012, with versions later made available for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game, and its predecessor Phantasy Star Online, are spin-offs to the main Phantasy Star series, taking place in a separate galaxy. A new title, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, was announced earlier this year.
