Disgaea 6 Digs Into Combat

A new video from NIS America gives a quick cram session of the combat for the upcoming Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny. Led by Cerberus, and occasionally interrupted by protagonist Zed and his sister Bieko, the video covers the returning basics of the game like Team Attacks and Combos, the Dark Assembly, and Item World.

New to the series is Super Reincarnation, which sees characters being reset back to level one but with increased base stats, allowing the character to exceed their previous strength. Many quality-of-life features will be included in the game, including fast-forward modes, auto-battles and the ability to repeat them automatically, and the Demonic Intelligence system, which lets players set AI behaviors for characters to use while auto-battling.

Disgaea 6 follows Zed and Bieko as their home is threatened by the God of Destruction. The two begin a quest to stop him that will take them all over the Netherworld as they run across its many denizens. The game will be released on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 28, 2021, with the Switch version confirmed for North America and Europe in summer 2021.
