Mass Effect Legendary Edition Announced

EA and BioWare have announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition. The collection will include remastered versions of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 and launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in spring 2021. The collection will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X with “targeted enhancements”. Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include the single-player content and DLC from the three games, including promotional weapons, armour, and packs.

Mass Effect is a sci-fi shooter RPG series set in the Milky Way towards the end of the 22nd century. After an initial contact war, humanity has found a place in galactic society with other space-faring species. The trilogy sees players controlling Commander Shepard, who becomes the first human SPECTRE, an elite agent acting on behalf of the galaxy’s ruling Council. His investigations uncover a galaxy-wide threat posed by lifeforms known as the Reapers. A fourth game, Mass Effect: Andromeda, takes players to the Andromeda galaxy with a new cast and story. EA and BioWare also revealed that a team is currently “envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe”, though no further details were announced.
