Mortal Shell Announced, Set Release Later This Year

Publisher Playstack and new developer Cold Symmetry have officially announced action RPG Mortal Shell. Heavily inspired by the Souls series, the game puts players in the role of an empty vessel that awakens in a world where the remainder of humanity withers away. Doing the bidding of the “Dark Father”, players track down sanctum, where they face off against powerful foes in order to harvest their sacred glands.

Throughout the world, players can find the anima of past warriors and inhabit them to gain their abilities and weapon knowledge, giving them a number of combat styles to choose from. The game features multiple different upgrade options, while its campaign lets players choose their own path across the map.

Mortal Shell is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is expected to launch in Q3 2020.
