Phantasy Star Online 2 Open Beta Starting Next Week

Sega announced that the North American open beta for MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 on Xbox One will begin at 5pm PDT on March 17, 2020. More details about the open beta, which follows a closed beta last month, and how to access it will be announced soon on the game’s official website.

Phantasy Star Online 2 was originally released for PC in Japan in 2012, with versions later made available for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game, and its predecessor Phantasy Star Online, are spin-offs to the main Phantasy Star series, taking place in a separate galaxy. At present, the game is only confirmed for release on Xbox One in spring 2020 and on Windows 10 later in 2020, with no confirmation regarding a potential release in Europe. The North American release will be free-to-play without any restrictions and include all content from the Japanese version.
