Yakuza 5 Remastered Out Now

The remastered PlayStation 4 version of Yakuza 5 is now available in North America and Europe. The game is available only as part of the $59.99 Yakuza Remastered Collection, which includes the PlayStation 4 versions of Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4. In addition, a physical Yakuza Remastered Collection: Day One Edition is available to purchase from retailers for $59.99 that includes Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 on one PlayStation 4 disc, Yakuza 5 on a separate disc, a collector’s case, and an empty Yazuka 5 PlayStation 3 box. A launch trailer for Yakuza 5 and a behind the scenes interview about the Remastered Collection can be viewed below. Please note that the interview contains some spoilers for Yakuza 3, 4, and 5.

Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 were all originally released exclusively for PlayStation 3. The remasters will make the entirety of the mainline Yakuza series available on PlayStation 4, with the first two games remade as Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2. In addition to graphical enhancements, the remasters of the three games have undergone a relocalisation process and include all of the context that was cut in their previous English releases, such as Yakuza 3’s mahjong, shogi, massage parlour, and cabaret minigames.
