Ni no Kuni, Dragon Quest: Your Story Coming to Netflix

Netflix has revealed that the Ni no Kuni and Dragon Quest: Your Story movies will be coming to its streaming service. The Ni no Kuni will available from January 16, 2020, with English voice acting showcased in a trailer viewable on Netflix’s website. Dragon Quest: Your Story’s release date has not been revealed.

The Ni no Kuni movie tells a separate story to the games, and stars high school students Yuu, Haru, and Kotona, who are transported to a fantasy world. It uses an original screenplay created by Ni no Kuni and Ni no Kuni II writer Akihiro Hino, with Joe Hisaishi composing the movie’s musical score. Dragon Quest: Your Story is an adaptation of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride directed by Takashi Yamazaki (Stand by Me Doraemon and the live-action Parasyte films), with music composed by series composer Koichi Sugiyama and performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.
