Octopath Traveler Prequel Announced for iOS, Android

Square Enix has announced Octopath Travelers: Champions of the Continent, a free-to-play single-player RPG coming to iOS and Android in Japan this year. The game acts as a prequel, set several years before the events of Octopath Traveler.

Champions of the Continent will use the same “HD-2D” graphics as the Nintendo Switch title. Players will be able to form a party of up to eight characters for command-based combat, with the game also using similar Path Actions — such as “Listen”, “Steal”, “Hire”, etc. — outside of combat. There are three story paths that players can choose between, with the protagonist labelled as a chosen one who fights against an evil being that has achieved power, fame, and fortune.

Octopath Traveler was released for Nintendo Switch in 2018. In addition to announcing Octopath Travelers: Champions of the Continent, Square Enix revealed that a new console game is in development, but is still a while away from being officially announced.

Man I am not sure that I like the idea of a mobile game… at least they are working on another game, that is a good news!
