The Elder Scrolls Online Expands into Elsweyr

Zenimax Online Studios has announced the newest expansion alongside its 2019 plans for MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. Dragons form a heavy part of the theme for the year, with the creatures set to appear in the game for the first time. There will a year-long interconnected story told across four updates released throughout the year. The biggest update will be in June 2019 when the expansion, Elsweyr, launches.

Elsweyr will add in the new zone of Elsweyr, home of the Khajiit, as well as the new Necromancer class. Elsweyr will be roughly the same size as the previously-added zone of Summerset. The expansion will also include a new 12-player trial, as well as world events in the form of dragon attacks, plus other new pieces of content. Due to the game’s chapter-based structure and level-scaling, Elsweyr will be accessible for both new and veteran players. The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr will be available in various bundle and upgrade editions.

The Elder Scrolls Online was originally released for PC in 2014, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions released in 2015. Elsweyr is the third major expansion to the game, following Morrowind and Summerset. A full replay of the announcement stream for Elsweyr can be viewed on Twitch.
