Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Receives New Gameplay Trailer

CD Projekt Red has released a new gameplay trailer for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales ahead of its PC release next week. The three-minute videos highlights various aspects of the game as players bolster Queen Meve’s forces, find resources, fight in battles that take the form of variations on the Gwent card game, and make various decisions that affect the world and story.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales started off as a single-player story campaign for the standalone release of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game before being changed to a separate release. The game is set before the trilogy of games and puts players in the role of Meve, queen of the Northern nations of Lyria and Rivia, as she deals with an imminent invasion from the Nilfgaardian Empire. Thronebreaker features various management aspects as well as choices and consequences, with a combat system based on the Gwent card game. The game releases for PC via GOG.com on October 23, 2018, with console releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One set for December 4, 2018.
