Nintendo Reveals More Indie Titles for Switch

Nintendo of America posted a new Indie Highlight video today, focusing on various indie titles coming to Nintendo Switch. Acting as a second part to last week’s video from Nintendo of Europe, the company revealed some new entries coming to the console, as well as providing release dates for previously announced games.

The first newly announced title is Hyper Light Drifter, a 2D action RPG released for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in 2016. The Switch version provides an exclusive Tower Climb challenge that rewards players with a new outfit to help find secret treasure and two new weapons. Hyper Light Drifter will be released on September 6, 2018.

Meanwhile, Nintendo revealed that Supergiant Games’ Bastion and Transistor will both be coming to the platform during a quick sequence featuring multiple other titles. Bastion was first released on PC and Xbox 360 in 2011, while Transistor was originally released for PC and PlayStation 4 in 2014. Bastion is set to be released on September 13, 2018, while Transistor will be released on November 1, 2018. Bastion received very positive reviews and won RPGamerā€™s Game of the Year Award in 2011, while those looking to read more about Transistor can check out Adriaan den Ouden’s review of the PC version.

Another new title announced for Nintendo Switch, revealed at the very end of the presentation, is Into the Breach, which is available to purchase and download today. The game is a mix between roguelike and turn-based strategy involving a multiple-timeline story. Nintendo also revealed various release dates for upcoming Switch titles during the quick sequence in which Transistor was revealed. The vVarious indie RPGs coming to the system that now have firm release dates or months are: Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut is set to release on September 13, 2018; Undertale will follow on September 18, 2018; Dragon Marked for Death is set to be released on December 13, 2018; and finally, Desert Child will be released in December 2018.
