The Bard’s Tale IV to Be Told this September

InXile Entertainment took to Twitter yesterday to announce a firm release date for the first new installment in the mainline Bard’s Tale series in thirty years. The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep will take players back to Skara Brae to face down an all-new danger. Set 100 years after The Bard’s Tale III, this crowd-funded title features turn-based first-person combat, pitting the player’s six-person party against enemies, with combat taking place on a four-by-four grid.

According to the game’s websiteThe Bard’s Tale IV will be available in four versions, with the most basic Standard Edition priced at $27.99. While that version will give players access to the digital game and the in-game Fire Horn, other editions include items like wallpapers and digital novellas, map, and soundtrack. Higher levels, including the Ultimate Edition, priced at $109.99, also include emulations of the original Bard’s Tale trilogy, as well as other unique goodies.

The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep will release on September 18, 2018. It is planned to be available for PC, Mac, and Linux.
