Jagex Announces Fourth RuneScape MMORPG

During its RuneFest event, Jagex announced that it is working on a new title in its RuneScape series. The game is the fourth title in the series following RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It has not yet been officially titled and currently has the working name of RS4. The game is stated to be an independent experience alongside the other games and takes place in the Sixth Age in the world of Gielinor. It begins in the continent of Ashenfall, years after the events of Dragonwilds.

In addition, the company announced its 2027 roadmap for RuneScape, as well as the new RuneScape Reignited feature. RuneScape Reignited will release on December 2, 2026, and introduce a brand-new character type to the game. Reignited characters will be able to participate in brand-new economy and hi-score tables with no paid progression available, and they will still be able to interact with existing characters and worlds. Its release will be accompanied by a remastered early main story as well as a new Adventure Guide. Meanwhile, 2027 will see the release of three new update arcs containing a mixture of content: Hoard of Dragons, The City of Gnomes, and Secrets of Karamja. Full blog posts detailing the roadmap and Reignited characters can be found on the game’s official website. Roadmaps and new content for Old School RuneScape and RuneScape: Dragonwilds have also been revealed.
