Of Ash and Steel Console Release, Expansion Announced

Publisher tinyBuild and developer Fire & Frost Studios have announced both a console release and an expansion for open-world fantasy action RPG Of Ash and Steel. The game, which released on PC last year, will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, though a release date has not been announced. It will also be receiving the Shattered Faith expansion, also not yet dated, which sees players join a mysterious expedition into Grayshaft’s forgotten regions in search of powerful artefacts. It will include two new magic schools, a new poleaxe weapon class, six new locations, and new beasts to battle.

Of Ash and Steel draws inspiration from 2000s RPGs such as Gothic and The Witcher. It is set in an unforgiving low-fantasy world and takes place in the formerly prosperous Kingdom of the Seven, named after the islands that make it up. The game puts players in the role of a cartographer who becomes stranded on the island of Greyshaft after his expedition is attacked.
