ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom Announced for Next Year

Kakao Games and XL Games have announced MMORPG ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom. The latest title in the ArcheAge series, the game is planned for worldwide release on PC in Q2 2027. Project director Kyung-tae Kim previously served as the lead game designer and producer on the original ArcheAge. No details about the game have been revealed at this stage, though a developer preview video is planned for later this month.

The original ArcheAge fantasy MMORPG released for PC in Korea in 2013, with an international release following in 2014 before its servers were shut down in 2024. Another title, ArcheAge Chronicles, is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S and is set fifty years after the events of the original game.
