To me, a cozy game is low stress and laid back, usually cutesy and has little to no combat. Animal Crossing is a prime example. Fantasy Life counts too, even if the newest game actually has a final boss in it.
Cozy games involve crafting, fishing, and farming as well as some sort of relationship or friendship building.
