I don’t accept the premise of Final Fantasy VI requiring 4-5 games to be remade, adding the GBA content to the Pixel Remaster would be enough. That said, if it was to happen, what parts of FFVI would be the best to be the final sequence of the different games?
I can think of two games that started as RPGs, then were reworked into entirely different genres of games. One is Animal Crossing. It was first concieved as a dungeon crawler foir the N64 DD. When that perpheral was delayed and ultimately failed, the game was reworked into the life sim it is today.
The other game is Banjo-Kazooie. It first started as an SNES RPG called Project Dream, was then moved to the N64, then reworked entirely into a 3D platformer.
What other games do you know about that had similar stories? It could be the opposite: started as a different genre, then got reworked into an RPG.
