Valor Mortis Receives September Date, Demo

Lyrical Games and One More Level revealed that first-person Soulslike RPG Valor Mortis will release on September 24, 2026. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a demo for the game now available on Steam. The demo contains two modified levels from the game: the first is a ravaged battlefield that serves as a tutorial for the combat system, while the second sees players having to use transmutation powers to reach the lighthouse. In addition, the companies announced that French actor Vincent Cassel will appear as Emperor Napoleon.

Valor Mortis takes place in a 19th-century alternate Europe, where an unknown substance called Nephtoglobin turns fallen soldiers into abominations. The game follows a French soldier named William, who is brought back to life and given supernatural abilities by the substance. The game is billed as taking inspiration from the Ghostrunner series and combining brutal, methodical combat, Metroidvania-inspired levels, and a narrative shrouded in horror and conspiracy.
