Horror RPG Catechesis Receives Demo
Developer Baroque Decay has released a demo for its pixel-art horror RPG Catechesis. The demo is available for PC via Steam and lets players go through the game’s first chapter, which lasts around an hour. Alongside the demo, the developer released a one-minute trailer that shows its action gameplay and gives an introduction to the game’s development history and story.
Catechesis was originally announced in 2013 before being resurrected by the developer in 2023. The game follows Daniel, an alter boy of a fringe religion who becomes possessed by a demon. As a result, every good deed he does causes a gateway to hell to open, and he must spend his time acting virtuous during the day while battling demons at night. The game will feature slow-paced combat that utilises ranged and melee weapons with a twin-stick aiming system. The game will also feature stealth elements with sound and light detection, as well as exploration that uses flashlights and candles to uncover hidden resources and paths.
