Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Prepares for Trail to the Heavens

Square Enix held its 92nd Letter from the Producer presentation for MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, during which Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida revealed more details and showcased additional parts of the upcoming Patch 7.5x update series, including revealing its trailer. As previously announced, the Patch 7.5x update series, titled “Trail to the Heavens”, the first part of the update and its main story content will arrive on April 28, 2026, with the second part of the story content coming in September 2026. The update will lead the game from Dawntrail into its next expansion, which is expected to be revealed during the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest events in Anaheim, Berlin, and Tokyo, with the Anaheim event taking place next week on April 24-25, 2026.

Content in the update series includes:

• New Main Scenario Quests
• New Alliance Raid: Echoes of Vana’diel, Part 3 – Windurst: The Third Walk
• New Dungeon: The Clyteum
• New Trial: Enuo (Normal and Extreme modes)
• Allied Society Capstone Quests
• New Unreal Trial: Shinryu’s Domain (Unreal)
• New Ultimate Raid
• Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures
• Occult Crescent Update: A new zone with new monsters, new Critical Encounters, an increased knowledge level, and multiple new Phantom Jobs
• New Limited Job: Beastmaster
• Duty Support Additions: Support for The Dusk Vigil and Shisui of the Violet Tides
• Ocean Fishing Update: New route towards Thavnair
• Cosmic Exploration: New planet Auxsia, plus additional updates and changes
• Housing Update: Increased limits for interior and exterior furnishings, new interior designs, and more
• Armoire Update: Increase to the number of items that can be stored
• Dye System Update
• PvP Updates: Start of PvP Series 11, including adjustments to existing PvP actions and the new Archeia Harmonia Crystalline Conflict arena
• Miscellaneous Updates: New Custom Deliveries, Phantom Weapon updates, Gold Saucer updates, and more

Taking place after the events of Endwalker and marking the start of a major new story arc for the game, Dawntrail sees the Warrior of Light’s help requested for Tural’s contested rite of succession. The expansion adds two new Jobs: melee DPS role Viper and ranged DPS role Pictomancer. It also includes a new level cap of 100, new dungeons, new locations, new side content, and more.
