The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Shows Grancel
Nihon Falcom and GungHo Online Entertainment released the latest character and location introduction for the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. The new update covers the region of Grancel, which hosts the capital of the kingdom of Liberl. Protagonists Estelle and Joshua visit the region during their journey to become Bracers.
Grancel is the residence of Queen Alicia Von Auslese, the current monarch of Liberl. She is known for her great diplomatic skills, which has allowed Liberl to maintain its independence while neighbouring both the Erebonian Empire and Republic of Calvard. Meanwhile, Duke Dunan Von Auslese is Queen Alicia’s nephew and a potential heir to the throne. However, he is unpopular due to his selfishness and arrogance. Phillip Runall is Duke Dunan’s longtime butler, who has endured his behaviour with great patience.
Kurt Nardin is a veteran Bracer based in Grancel. He is considered the country’s second strongest Bracer, being skilled with both the spear and eastern combat techniques, and helps train junior Bracers. Elnan is the receptionist of Grancel’s Bracer branch. Known for his leadership skills and politeness, he has earned the trust of the community. Finally, Lorence Belgar is a mysterious young man who wears a combat suit that enhances his abilities and conceals his face. He appears multiple times during Estelle and Joshua’s journey, but his motivations are unknown.
The city of Grancel is home to the Queen’s residence, Grancel Castle, as well as other landmarks such as the Grancel Cathedral, the Grand Arena, and various embassies and is circled by Ahnenburg Wall. It is smaller than the larger cities in Erebonia and Calvard, but is popular with visitors for its elegance and embracing of royal traditions. It was the only city not to be occupied by the Erebonian Empire during the Hundred Days War.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is a remake of the first game in the series that takes place on the continent of Zemuria. It follows adopted siblings Estelle and Joshua as they set out to become Bracers, a group that acts to protect the safety of the world’s citizens. Acting as junior Bracers, they look to become full-fledged Bracers by taking on jobs across the Kingdom of Liberl. The game will release worldwide on September 19, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
