Suikoden Star Leap Showcases Its Battle System

Konami released a new trailer for its upcoming free-to-play RPG Suikoden Star Leap. The four-long-minute video showcases the title’s turn-based combat, detailing mechanics such as runes, secret techniques, un-balance, and chains. The game is set to release for PC, iOS, and Android, with no release date announced at this time.

Suikoden Star Leap is developed by MYTHRIL, which has previously been involved in battle and level design for Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe as well as planning for Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy & the Liberator of Polar Night and SaGa Emerald Beyond. The game is set in Solar Year 453, between the events of Suikoden V and Suikoden I. It starts in a village just to the east of the Scarlet Moon Empire, where the hero, son of the village chief, returns to celebrations following his first hunt. However, the village is attacked, and the hero sets out with allies Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur in a quest to restore peace, with 108 new stars for players to meet.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
